Despite the transport problems, Rafał Sonik once again proved that he is a Dakar rider through and through – he never gives up. The quad rider had to overcome many obstacles to arrive, though late, to the Diverse Night of The Jumps in Gdańsk. At Ergo Arena, he met with his fans and special quad riders – the Siekaj brothers.
A broken plane, errands in the capital city, and awful weather conditions did not deter him. The Dakar Rally winner simply could not miss the Gdańsk’s round of the FMX world championships, and the fact that his loyal fans were there was not the only reason. That evening was to be the date of a pretty historic moment.
Patryk Siekaj became the youngest competitor in the world who managed to perform a backflip on a quad. While the six-times winner of the World Cup was late for the jump itself, but he arrived on time to hand his white&red gloves, the same ones that he won this year’s World Cup rallies, to the young freestyler. It was to be a proof of respect for the skills, courage, and perseverance of both Siekaj brothers in pursuing their great passion.
Rafał Sonik also extended an invitation to Tauron Arena Kraków for 10 December, where the first round of Super Enduro world championships will take place. Together with over a dozen thousand thousands of viewers, the quad rider will cheer for another automotive sport master – Tadeusz Błażusiak, who will start fighting for the seventh trophy in his career on home turf.
