“This is the first such professional conference for me. I don’t suffer from stage fright, though. I’ll be talking about my life experiences.” On 7 March, Rafał Sonik was one of the speakers during the prestigious Maximum Achievements Congress in Kraków. The rally driver found himself standing among such renowned speakers like Brian Tracy, Jacek Walkiewicz, Adam Gnych, or Drew O’Malley.
Rafał Sonik talked to the audience about his experiences and about his motivations. He shared everything he has achieved over the last dozen or so years. He emphasized that we would not be where we are, had it not been for the persistence and determination of many important Polish people in the past. He began his speech by recalling bishop Eugeniusz Baziak and Karol Wojtyła, the later Pope John Paul II. It was an important gesture and a tribute to these great persons from our history.
The six-times winner of the FIM World Cup and the Dakar winner motivated and encouraged. He emphasized the role of believing in yourself. ‘As I reached the finish line of my first Dakar Rally, in 2009, I saw that no horizon is the end of the world. No horizon exhausts our capabilities. There is a new horizon behind each horizon, and if we pace ourselves, we will be able to reach and even greater success when we cross it,’ emphasized Rafał Sonik.
