As every year, a few days before Christmas, Rafał Sonik shared a wafer and sang Christmas carols surrounded by other quad aficionados. Over 30 riders came to take part in a festive meal organized by the Polish winner.
Although the ground was frozen and covered with snow, nobody dared to give up on a collective riding. Resembling a sort of an iron cavalry company, tens of quads and other UTV vehicles moved through the vast spaces, looping, jumping moguls and spinning around on the icy surface.
Turning engines off was followed by seasonal wishes to Sonik before the upcoming Dakar Rally, and back to all fellow quad riders from the six-time world champion. “What gives me the most determination and faith in my success during any race is the thought that I represent a tough and passionate group of people like all of you. The pressure is huge but so is the pride of being your representative in the most challenging of races. If I am the champion, my mechanic is a champion as well, and everybody who has couched and supported me along the way becomes a champion too”, asserted Rafał Sonik.
