Christmas Eve at the Witkacy Theatre

If one had to pick one event which is both unforgettable and unique, the annual Christmas Eve at the Witkacy Theatre in Zakopane would surely place on the top of the list. This is where Rafał Sonik brings together at one table all those who share his deep love for mountains to sing Christmas carols, share positive energy and exchange warm smiles and wishes. 

Just like during the annual meeting on Kasprowy Wierch in April, the Witkacy Theatre opens its gates to skiers, Olympic athletes, mountain rescue services, Tatra National Park rangers, representatives of the city council in Zakopane, and all those who hold mountains dear. If someone appreciates and honors the majesty of the Tatra Mountains, they must also share the same joy of life, clear as the sky above the rocky peaks, and the same spark in their eyes, shimmering like the sunlight on the surface of mountain streams.

The celebration of Christmas Eve at the Witkacy Theatre is so special because it is created by kind and open people sharing a positive attitude towards life and towards one another. A cozy, festive foyer filled with delicious smells of traditional beet soup creates a truly memorable atmosphere. While the blizzard is howling outside, inside hearts are melting.

Just like every year, the gathering in December 2017 caused exactly that.
