Warsaw’s Moto Show had some distinguished guests this year. Jutta Kleinschmidt, the only woman to ever win the Dakar Rally, and Nicolas Hamilton, the driver who races despite his disability and spastic diplegia, came to meet Polish fans. They were accompanied by Kajetan Kajetanowicz, the European Champion, and Filipa Nivette, the Polish Champion. Rafał Sonik could not miss out, too.
This year’s fair in Nadarzyn near Warsaw was truly impressive in terms of size. There were several pavilions divided by topic. We had a car zone, with eight releases, a tuning zone, a camper zone, and moto-sports zone. Andrzej Borowczyk, the popular and valued automotive journalists held interviews with invited guests at the main stage.
Rafał Sonik came onto the fair stage two times. The first interview was held by Ola Kutz, a go-getting journalist. During the second interview, Rafał and Jutta Kleinschmidt compared their challenges: what was the African Dakar Rally like and what is the Dakar Rally of today held in South America like. At the end of the meeting, the six-times winner of the World Cup and the three-times participant of the rally, Jakub Piątek, gave gifts from Polish Dakar riders to the famous competitor: she received a bottle with sand and a board with signatures of 12 Polish representatives. Jutta did not hide her surprise and emotions.
