On Sunday, 15 January, the 25th final of WOŚP took place. Despite the many difficulties and obstacles placed before the Jurek Owsiak’s Foundation, the final turned out to be yet another success. Polish people joined in and collected over PLN 105 million!
This year’s result was announced during the official press conference at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Rafał Sonik, whose 2009 Dakar quad was auctioned for PLN 150 thousand, was one of the invited guests.
‘This is our joint success. The auctioned quad is one thing. The Polish diaspora also joined in, by participating in a dinner held in Bar Kraków in Buenos Aires, organised with Magda Gessler and Tadeusz Zając – the owner of the establishment,’ said Rafał Sonik, clearly happy.
For years Rafał Sonik has been carrying the WOŚP’s heart on his helmet for years. ‘I believe that WOŚP is the modern versio nof Solidarity. It helps us show the world that we are able to stand together and create something good together. Something that others can only envy us,’ he concluded.
